Notification Types in Machine Advisor
Which notifications do I receive from Machine Advisor?
Machine Advisor notifications and messages can be divided into two levels – organization and user .
• organizational level: notifications send by the connected machines which are assigned to the current selected organization. These notifications are automated based on a planned maintenance task (task reminder), based on a machine condition (alerts) or for the connection of hardware and cloud (API token expiration).
• user level: notifications or messages sent to a specific user, to inform about new team invitations or responses on requests. Independent of the current selected organization.

Notifications and messages, what is the difference?
Notifications are sent based on events in Machine Advisor. Messages can be manually sent from an organization member, either via writing a message in Machine Advisor or with Data as a Service (DaaS), our open API.

Notification Feed in Machine Advisor
What is the notification feed and why you should I use it?
With its clear structure, the notification feed is the centralized interface for all notifications. Your benefits? Be independent from 3rd parties and have an overview of all types of notifications directly in Machine Advisor, interact with the reminders and benefit from efficient warnings.
How can I access the notification feed in Machine Advisor?
To access the notification feed, click on the mail icon next to the search bar.
How will Machine Advisor inform me about new notifications?
If you have new notifications or messages, there will be an orange dot in front of the mail icon in Machine Advisor. Unread notifications are also marked orange in the notification feed. Additionally, you will receive e-mail notifications in case of new user notifications, organization messages and token expiration notifications.
You also have the possibility to activate the third-party application Telegram to receive notifications and messages on your smart phone.
Can I search for a particular notification?
Machine Advisor enables you to filter the notifications by:
• machine name
• notification type: alerts, machine offline, attention, token, requests, organization message
• data range (max. 31 days in past)
Specify the attributes of the notification you are looking for by using the drop-down menu and selection area and click on Go in order to filter or search the notification feed.
How can I send organization messages?
An organization message is sent to all members of a selected organization or selected customers. To send organization messages via the notification feed please follow the following steps:
1. go to notification feed in Machine Advisor
2. click on new message icon
3. select the customers which should receive the message in the drop-down menu (optional)
4. fill in subject and write message
5. select additional communication services for your message – e-mail or Telegram (optional)
Please note that only users who have activated these channels will receive the message via e-mail or Telegram.

How can I check which additional services have been used to distribute the notification or message?
In the notification feed you will find next to each notification these icons, if the message was also sent via additional services:
If no icons are displayed next to the message, additional services are not activated.
Is there a limitation of how many messages I can send?
The service is limited to one message every 10 seconds per user.

Notification via E-Mail, Telegram and DaaS
Can Machine Advisor send me e-mail notifications?
Yes, Machine Advisor can send you e-mail notifications. By default, you receive user notifications, organization messages and token expiration notifications via e-mail. Therefore, Machine Advisor uses the e-mail address of you user profile.
How can I activate e-mail notifications for the monitor feature?
To receive notifications from the MONITOR feature, e.g., application alerts, via e-mail please follow the following steps:
1. go to My Profile in Machine Advisor
2. go to Notification settings and check the box “I agree to receive email notifications from Machine Advisor”
How can I deactivate e-mail notifications?
To deactivate notifications from the MONITOR feature, e.g.: application alerts, via e-mail please follow the following steps:
1. go to My Profile in Machine Advisor
2. go to Notification settings and un-check the box “I agree to receive email notifications from Machine Advisor”
3. click on “I agree to remove my email notification agreement”
Please note that you still receive user notifications, organization messages and token expiration notifications via e-mail.
Can Machine Advisor send me notifications via a messenger application?
Yes, you can use the third-party mobile application Telegram. This functionality is deactivated by default.
Please note that Telegram is a third-party messenger service. If you authorize third parties to collect information from machines, to access information processed within the service, or to issue commands to machines (for instance using a third-party messenger service), we will also share the needed information with these third parties in order to perform your requests.
How can I activate Telegram notifications?
To receive notifications via the third-party mobile application Telegram please follow the following steps:
1. go to My Profile in Machine Advisor
2. go to Notification settings and click Activate Telegram Notifications
3. read the Terms-of-Use and click Accept, if you want to use Telegram Notifications
Machine Advisor will automatically generate your personal access token to activate Telegram notifications
Please note that the token is only valid for 120 seconds
4. set-up Telegram and register at this third-party application
5. follow the activation URL or send a message (/send[TOKEN]) with your personal token to the machineadvisor_bot in Telegram
How can I deactivate Telegram notifications?
To deactivate notifications via the third-party mobile application Telegram please follow the following steps:
1. go to My Profile in Machine Advisor
2. go to Notification settings and click Stop Telegram
What does it mean to send notifications via Data as a Service (DaaS)?
Data as a Service (DaaS), our open GraphQL-API, gives you the possibility to leverage the notification services of Machine Advisor. Messages can be auto-generated via simple queries and send to the whole organization or specific customers.
Additionally, all other notification channels can be used. This means, based on an event on machine level, you are able to send a message to Machine Advisor, e-mail recipients and Telegram users (smart phones) within seconds.
