Applications: Formula

The Machine Advisor FORMULA application enables you to create formulas with logical operations between variables. The output of a FORMULA application is a new variable. If the condition described in your logic formula turns TRUE, Machine Advisor will notify you.

Requirements
To use Machine Advisor applications, it is necessary that your machine is connected to EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor and is sending data to the Machine Advisor cloud. Furthermore, Machine Advisor’s FORMULA application requires that all variables which are used in the same application have the exact same time stamp.

To receive notifications via e-mail and messenger services, it is necessary to subscribe to the corresponding FORMULA application.

How can I set a FORMULA application?

Please follow the steps below to set a FORMULA application:
1. go to Monitor of the machine for which you want to add a FORMULA application
2. select Applications in the Monitor navigation
3. select FORMULA in application navigation
4. click “+” to create a new FORMULA application
5. name your application
6. select the variables, which you want to use for the logic formula (minimum: 1, maximum: 10)
7. create your formula: drag & drop selected variables and logic operators into input area to create your formula

NOTE
Machine Advisor’s FORMULA application requires that all variables which are used in the same application have the exact same time stamp.

8. add comment (optional)
9. set alarm severity (low, medium, high, critical)
10. click Create

NOTE
To receive notifications via e-mail and messenger services, it is necessary to subscribe to the corresponding FORMULA application.

Logical Operators:

To delete a component of your formula, please hover over the right upper corner of the operator widget and click delete symbol.

In which frequency is the FORMULA application executed / updated?

FORMULA applications (alert) are executed every 10 minutes, so it can take from 1 second up to 10 minutes  after Machine Advisor receives the input variables till the logic condition can be reviewed based on your formula. If the condition described in your logic formula turns TRUE, Machine Advisor will notify you.

How can I subscribe to a FORMULA application notification of my machine?

Please follow the steps below to subscribe to a FORMULA application for a selected machine:
1. go to Monitor of the machine
2. select Applications in the Monitor navigation
3. select the FORMULA application you want to subscribe to (search by application name)
4. click notification bell symbol
5. select your preferred communication channel (e-mail, messenger service) or assign a mailing list

FORMULA applications (formula) are executed every 10 minutes, so it can take from 1 second up to 10 minutes  after Machine Advisor receives the input variables till the logic condition can be reviewed based on your formula. If the condition described in logic formula turns TRUE, Machine Advisor will notify you.

You will receive a notification each time when the alarm condition has either started or ended. Furthermore, a notification e-mail is sent out which shows the duration of the alert, as soon as the event ended.
