Applications: Threshold

EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor gives you the opportunity to define threshold warnings (minimum and maximum) for selected variables of your machine. Thanks to these threshold warnings Machine Advisor will inform you, if a parameter is out of its predefined normal range. By default, EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor will inform you about the warnings via the following channels:
– Machine Advisor notification feed
– machine’s symbol in your Fleet Overview (warning symbol)
– dashboard widgets which visualize the concerned variable will be marked

Furthermore, Machine Advisor enables you to set THRESHOLD applications, which use your variable’s predefined thresholds to inform you about warnings via e-mail or messenger services. However, in order to receive warning notifications via e-mail or messenger services, it is necessary to subscribe to the corresponding THRESHOLD application. The result of an THRESHOLD application is a new variable.

Requirements
To use Machine Advisor applications, it is necessary that your machine is connected to EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor and is sending data to the Machine Advisor cloud. Furthermore, Machine Advisor’s THRESHOLD application requires that all variables which are used in the same application have the exact same time stamp.

Furthermore, the THRESHOLD application requires that all selected variables posses enabled warnings (added on Values page). To receive warnings via e-mail and messenger services, it is necessary to subscribe to the corresponding THRESHOLD application.

How can I set a THRESHOLD application?

Please follow the steps below to set a THRESHOLD application:
1. go to Monitor of the machine for which you want to add a THRESHOLD application
2. select Applications in the Monitor navigation
3. select THRESHOLD in application navigation
4. click “+” to create a new THRESHOLD application
5. name your application
6. select the variables, for which you want to set a THRESHOLD alarm (minimum: 1, maximum: 10)

The threshold application requires that all selected variables posses enabled warnings within EcoStruxure™ Machine Advisor. Furthermore, Machine Advisor’s THRESHOLD application requires that all variables which are used in the same application have the exact same time stamp.

7. add comment (optional)
8. set alarm severity (low, medium, high, critical)
9. click Create

NOTE
To receive warnings via e-mail and messenger services, it is necessary to subscribe to the corresponding THRESHOLD application.

How can I enable warnings, if a value is outside of the standard operating range?

To set a warning for a selected variable please follow the following steps:
1. go to Monitor feature for a selected machine
2. click Values
3. select variable
4. click Add Warning
5. set minimum and maximum value
6. switch toggle to check
7. click OK

In which frequency is the THRESHOLD application executed / updated?

THRESHOLD applications (alert) are executed every 10 minutes, so it can take from 1 second up to 10 minutes till the alarm condition is detected and a notification is sent out.

How can I subscribe to THRESHOLD notifications of my machine?

Please follow the steps below to subscribe to a THRESHOLD application for a selected machine:
1. go to Monitor of the machine
2. select Applications in the Monitor navigation
3. select the THRESHOLD application you want to subscribe to (search by application name)
4. click notification bell symbol
5. select your preferred communication channel (e-mail, messenger service) or assign a mailing list

THRESHOLD applications (alert) are executed every 10 minutes, so it can take from 1 second up to 10 minutes till the alarm condition is detected and a notification is sent out.

You will receive a notification each time when the alarm condition has either started or ended. Furthermore, a notification e-mail is sent out which shows the duration of the warning, as soon as the alarm event ended.
